Update 12/8/2012

I ended up going out to the property by myself today. The kids are sick and James is super busy with school work. So, we decided it would be easier if I just went alone. I must admit it was nice to be able to just take my time and get all the pictures I wanted without having to worry about kids.

Right when I pulled up to the house our project supervisor pulled in right behind me. He was there to check on the house across the street from ours but came over to chat. I must say everyone we have worked with at Ryan Homes has been amazing. We are really enjoying going through this process with them.

So, here are some pictures from today.

The is the view from the front corner of our lot.

View from the front door looking into the front sitting room/dinning room.

Standing the in the middle of the front room. This is a shot of the side of the stairs. I am thinking about putting built in bookshelves under the stairs or see if we can build a little play house for the kids.

Standing at the bottom of the stairs looking at the front door.

Double window in the from room.

Standing by the bottom of the stairs looking towards the powder room and front door.

Another view of the stairs.

Standing at the top of the stairs looking down at the landing. I love the we have a huge window there.

Standing in the living room looking towards the kitchen.

Standing in the corner of the front left bedroom. From here you can see all the way to the far right side of the house....so you are actually looking through Preston's room, Landon's room and the master closet.

Everything is looking great! Next week we meet with our Guardian rep on Monday to work out all the low voltage wiring. And then on Friday we have our pre-drywall meeting. More pictures to come next week!!!

We Have Walls!!!!

Building has officially started!!!!!

Things are moving super super fast. I am excited that we are finally seeing progress but the speed at which things are going up is bothering me a little. When I was in middle school my family built a house.  My dad can build anything. Seriously. Houses, school, hospitals, airports, medical office buildings...he has done it all. It took over a year to build my parents house. Now I know that Ryan homes has a much bigger crew than what my dad had to build his house. Actually my dad's crew was pretty much just him and my brothers. So, I totally get that this is going to go up much faster than my parents house......but still....all the framing that you see here happened in one day. That seems a bit fast.

However, I did go over an inspect it. For the most part I am very happy with everything. Saw a few things that I do not like and our project supervisor will be getting an email with a few pictures attached. Just need to show my dad the pictures first to get his professional opinion.

Here are a few things that I saw that I do not like.

                                                           Random holes in the wall
                                                                     Split 2x4
There are about 5 2x4s that have chunks knocked out.

The kids had a blast running through the house.

This picture is from the kitchen looking through the mud room and garage.
Madison standing where the kitchen bar will be.
                                                                       Morning room

                                                    More of the morning room.

                                                                  Living room

                                                                            Stairs

                                                       Looking into the master bedroom

                                                           Madison checking out the view

                                                                 My Preston man.

We have a bigger front yard than we originally thought we would.
View from the end of the drive way.

Overall we are very excited and happy with progress. Hoping to get back out there tomorrow and take more pictures.

Pictures

Sunday we decided to take the kids to the lot and get a few pictures before construction starts.

This kid is beyond excited about the new house. He didn't wan to leave the lot.

Please pardon my ghostly appearance..... we had the flu this week and I have honestly never been so sick in my entire life.
